Game On: IDF Ground Forces Enter Gaza

Israel Defense Forces spokesman Capt. Benjamin Rutland announces the entrance of IDF forces into Gaza with the objective of dealing a heavy blow to Hamas’ terrorist infrastructure and rocket-launching capability.

Michael Totten discusses the idea of proportional response in armed conflict. A must read for those interesting in a balanced view of this conflict.

This Ain’t Hell has an official announcement, since the quisling elect doesn’t have one.

In his weekly radio address, President Bush, lays the blame of this conflict on the aggressors, and illustrates the work that has been done by Israel, the US and the UN to bring peace.

Now that Israel has got the ball rolling, they better keep it up till the job is done. If they don’t, they are gonna get rolled – again.

War On Terror, In Case You Forgot

Jonn over at This Ain’t Hell makes a salient point of the hypocrisy of the left and their anti-war dogma. Four Americans were killed in this new front in the war on terror:

Rabbi Gavriel N. Holtzberg
Rivka Holtzber

Alan Scherr
Naomi Sherr

Jonn nails it with these observations:

Four peaceful people murdered purely for the shock value – no military goals, no tactical advantage. Just mass murder – and the 200 known dead weren’t enough. The only terrorist captured alive claims they were going for 5,000 dead

Does anyone think that ANSWER or World Can’t Wait or Not In Our Name are going to protest the people who sent the ten chimps out to kill innocent people? Not on your life. A few days ago, I got to listen to the same types defending Bill Ayers’ domestic terrorist activities as a logical result of American foreign policy. They damn sure aren’t going to condemn foreign terrorists.

Locally, will the Sheepdogs be treated to ghoulish displays in memory of these victims of islamic terrorists by the Chester County Prison Movement. Somehow, I think not. Will the CCPM protest against who organized this butchery? Will they protest against America? You betcha.

No War With Georgia

Seems the CCPM missed the opportunty to stop this war:

DZHAVA, Georgia — Russia dispatched an armored column into the breakaway enclave of South Ossetia on Friday after Georgia, a staunch U.S. ally, launched a surprise offensive to crush separatists. Witnesses said hundreds of civilians were killed.
Fighting reportedly raged well into the night with Georgia’s interior ministry saying early Saturday that warplanes attacked three Georgian military bases and key facilities for shipping oil to the West.

Hmmm, what are the chances the peacers will be carrying ‘Stop the Georgian War’ signs?

IBD’s Revolution Redux

George W’s War:

No one likes war. War is a horrific affair, bloody and expensive. Sending our men and women into battle to perhaps die or be maimed is an unconscionable thought.

Yet some wars need to be waged, and someone needs to lead. The citizenry and Congress are often ambivalent or largely opposed to any given war. It’s up to our leader to convince them. That’s why we call the leader “Commander in Chief.”

The similarities between the War on Terror and our own Revolution are astounding. Read the rest HERE.

Wrong Way Peace Movement

What is the “peace movement” doing wrong? My fellow contributor at Flopping Aces took the time to compile a list of shortcomes of the peace movement. His article nails the real agenda of the peace folk as a partisan political tool. I see this in action every weekend in West Chester.
  • It failed to prevent the war in Afghanistan.
  • It failed to prevent the war in Iraq.
  • It failed to change power in the executive branch.
  • It failed to end the war in Iraq.
  • It was duped by Democrats in 2006 who promised “A New Direction In Iraq” without ever having even formed a committee to brainstorm ideas until 2 months after being elected.
  • It failed to prevent The Surge offensive.
  • It failed to stop cannibals in the Congo [and was silent while 4-6million died as UN peacekeepers raped and sold children en masse].
  • It failed to stop the bloodshed in Darfur.
  • It speaks out against the efforts (war) of US forces to protect people from terror.
  • It speaks the same rhetoric as the enemy’s propaganda.
  • It is silent in response to terrorist attacks.
  • It is openly embraced by Islamic holy warriors.

I don’t know, but the fact remains that the Peace Movement seems more a partisan political tool and a carnival than a substantive and meaningful call for action. Perhaps someday it will succeed in bringing peace to a war torn nation rather than support those tearing it apart? Perhaps it would be more successful if it marched and took action against the terrorists?

One other note: Jules Crittenden weighs in on the importance of Iraq in the global war on terror:

Iraq has become the central battlefield in the 21st century’s Islamic war, and may have been destined to be, with or without us. Lying geographically, ideologically, and culturally athwart the Middle East, rich in resources and boiling with rage long before we got there, it is the place where the war will either be settled or truly begun. It is a fitting role for the cradle of civilization to host a war in which the very progress of civilization is being challenged.

And now for some South Park wisdom:

Somehow I don’t see the peace protesters agreeing with South Park…. Pity

How Prime Minister Maliki Pacified Iraq

We are winning, I am happy and peace-protestors worldwide are cryin’.

WSJ Reports:

America is very close to succeeding in Iraq. The “near-strategic defeat” of al Qaeda in Iraq described by CIA Director Michael Hayden last month in the Washington Post has been followed by the victory of the Iraqi government’s security forces over illegal Shiite militias, including Iranian-backed Special Groups. The enemies of Iraq and America now cling desperately to their last bastions, while the political process builds momentum.

In The SandBox

I’d like to introduce my friend, Gunnery Sergeant Jonathan Jenkins. A Chester County resident who has recently arrived in Iraq for a seven month tour.

Jonathan is documenting his experience in the Sandbox at his blog : The Conservative Bog . Go ahead and leave him a note or two of encouragement!

Oh, and if you can, Jonathan is looking for a good pair of wool socks – Wool may soon be my best friend. Wool socks in the desert…go figure.

While you are sending good wishes to our troops – send some to a fellow blogger in the SandBox: LT Nixon Rants. Unlike Jonathan Jenkins, Lt. Nixon has not been fortunate enough to meet me in real life. However, I’ve determined him to be quite likable and he is heterosexual. So go ahead and send your notes of support to him!

al-Reuters Reports

Unless you are a released inmate from Gitmo

DUBAI, May 1 (Reuters) – A Kuwaiti man released from the U.S. prison in Guantanamo Bay in 2005 has carried out a suicide bombing in Iraq, his cousin told Al Arabiya television on Thursday.A friend of Abdullah Saleh al-Ajmi in Iraq informed his family that Abdullah carried out the attack in Mosul, his cousin Salem told the Dubai-based television channel.

Shamelessly borrowed from Lt. Nixon:

In a shrewd analysis of Obama’s peculiarly petty objections to the Rev. Wright, Scott Johnson of the Powerline Web site remarked on the senator’s “adolescent grandiosity.” There’s always been a whiff of that. When he tells his doting fans, “We are the change we’ve been waiting for,” he means, of course, he is the change we’ve been waiting for.

Hmm, all this time I believed only winter soldiers willfully misused the word ‘we’ in their statements.

Not these troops – Not this war – Not this time.

IVAW – Iraq Veterans Against War plan on revisiting past shame by taking a page from the 1971 VVAW Winter Soldier Investigation (WSI). The IVAW is holding its own Winter Soldier Investigation this month at the National Labor College in Silver Spring, MD.

The unverified allegations by the original Winter Soldier Investigation were made famous by John Kerry’s congressional testimony where he characterized American soldiers as “razing villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan”. Unproven statements from the membership of the VVAW and John Kerry managed to smear the reputation of an entire generation of honorable soldiers. Decades later, Vietnam Veterans are still reeling from the egregious mis-characterization perpetrated by the VVAW.

The Iraq veterans Against War (Formed under Veterans For Peace) are attempting to do the same to this generation of men and women serving in our military. Select IVAW members are scheduled to make statements, and will do so without swearing an oath or signing legally binding depositions, affidavits or official reports. In essence, the IVAW are denying these individuals the basic right of American citizens to due process.

Not these troops – Not this war – Not this time.

Eagles Up along with MAF, R/T and Gathering of Eagles is spearheading a campaign to counter the forthcoming IVAW Winter Soldier Investigation. This video is a compilation of GOE supporters from across the nation speaking out against this upcoming travesty of truth. This new generation of winter soldier’s will NOT have the opportunity to smear our troops with impunity. They will be held accountable for their statements.

When faced with a member of IVAW, VVAW or VFP, just gently stop their rant and give them a copy of a SF-180, and let their record speak for them.

Saddam/Liberals Lied ~ People Died

Found this gem over at Flopping Aces:

Details from the interview:

“He told me he initially miscalculated… President Bush’s intentions. He thought the United States would retaliate with the same type of attack as we did in 1998…a four-day aerial attack,” says Piro. “He survived that one and he was willing to accept that type of attack.” “He didn’t believe the U.S. would invade?” asks Pelley, “No, not initially,” answers Piro.

He also intended and had the wherewithal to restart the weapons program. “Saddam] still had the engineers. The folks that he needed to reconstitute his program are still there,” says Piro. “He wanted to pursue all of WMD…to reconstitute his entire WMD program.” This included chemical, biological and nuclear weapons, Piro says.

Conventional Wisdom of WMD – By S.Hussein

Saddam’s nuclear documents compel any reasonable person to the conclusion that, more probably than not, there were in fact nuclear WMD sites, components, and programs hidden inside Iraq at the time the Coalition forces invaded.
