Who paid Will Folks? He was allegedly offered money. A LOT of money. In fact, RedState now confirms through a whole heap of sources that he’s been trying to sell this story for a year.We know who bit.We know who didn’t bite.We know who paid Will Folks to push this story out there.

Will Folks denies it and lawyers up.

Erick promises to reveal all tomorrow morning:

For those coming in late to this story, let me get you up to speed on this drama. A South Carolina blogger, Will Folks, publicly revealed on his blog what he describes as an “inappropriate physical relationship” with gubernatorial hopeful Nikki Haley. Within nanoseconds the DNC began to push the alleged sex scandal and the lefty blogs had a collective orgasm over this allegation. Today, Erick Erickson threw an ocean of ice cold water on Will and the leftistas drooling over this alleged affair. Erick flat out stated he knows who is funding Will Folks to publish his allegation.

In anticipation of tomorrow’s revelation, who do you believe if funding Will Folks?

America Speaking Out – Interview with Rep. Bob Latta

Today I have the opportunity to speak to Rep. Bob Latta (R-OH) regarding America Speaking Out.

Bob represents the 5th Congressional District in Ohio – a great state and I don’t say that because I’ve family in Ohio.

Three facts found on Project Vote Smart reveal much about Rep. Latta’s character:

1. 2009 In 2009 the Irregular Times/Progressive Patriots – Net Congressional Score – May 14, 2010 gave Representative Latta a rating of -59.
2. 2009 Representative Latta supported the interests of the American Conservative Union 100 percent in 2009.
3. 2009 According to the National Journal – Composite Liberal Score’s calculations, Representative Latta voted more liberal on economic, defense and foreign policy issues than 10 percent of members within the same chamber of Congress in 2009.

I didn’t know you could score in the negative range among liberal/progressive causes. Rep. Latta must be doing something very good for this nation to earn that type of score.

Q: Can you describe the rationale behind ‘America Speaking Up’?

A:  Millions of citizens want to share ideas, some write blog posts, call in to radio shows or write letters to the editor. Many feel, with good reason, that Congress is not listening to their concerns or questions.  The frustration of being ignored by the government came to a head in August of 2009, with people getting off their couches and connecting with other like minded individuals.  Citizens have a right to question their representatives, especially in light of the CBO declaring the spending spree by this Congress as unsustainable.

The America Speaking Out website allows Americans  to share ideas and weigh in on ideas posted. It  is another way to encourage the dialogue the bloomed in 2009.

Q : After listening  to Americans, what is the end result of the ideas generated by this project? Another Contract With America?

A:   The purpose of listening to Americans across the United States is to incorporate these ideas to help shape what the Republican Party stands for.  In essence, allowing the people to define the powers of government.

From Blogger to Committee Woman in 3,000 Easy Steps

One week ago, I was elected as a committee woman for Division 10, Ward 57 in Philadelphia. The most remarkable story of this primary season in Pennsylvania, outside of PA-12,  is the story of everyday Americans stepping up and becoming involved in local politics. To give you an idea of the distribution of committee people throughout the city -Philadelphia is divided into 66 wards, each ward is broken further down into divisions, with no fewer than 10 and no greater than 50. Within my ward and division, I am the only female committee member among my Republican and Democrat peers. In my small way, I shattered another glass ceiling for women in politics.

America Speaks Out

Big news coming from House GOP leaders tomorrow!

The Hill reports:

House GOP leaders have planned a high-profile event at Washington D.C.’s Newseum Tuesday morning to launch the start of their “America Speaking Out” project.

Chief Deputy Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) is in charge of the initiative to result in the release of a set of policy items that Republicans would pursue if they won back control of the House in November.

According to officials involved in the effort, “America Speaking Out” will focus on gathering feedback from Americans on what items that lawmakers should be focusing on in the future.

GOP Conference Chairman Mike Pence (Ind.) said on Monday “it’s part of a process of engaging Americans.”

Out of the box thinking – policy items derived from the people, not created in smoky back rooms and shoved down our throats. I will be following this project closely.

S.O.S – Save The Olympia

While this city enjoys out of control spending on pet projects that benefit no one, an American treasure is threatened with destruction. The U.S.S. Olympia, flagship of the American Navy during the Spanish/American war and commanded by Admiral Dewey during the battle of Manila Bay in 1898. The ship has been docked at Penns Landing next to the USS Becuna, a WW2 submarine for decades.

S.O.S:

The old warship has been part of Philadelphia’s waterfront for 50 years and left lasting impressions on thousands of visitors who heard gripping stories of its role in the Spanish-American War.

Now the Olympia – the last surviving vessel from that 1898 conflict – could face an ignoble end as an artificial reef off Cape May if a new benefactor cannot be found.

The Independence Seaport Museum and the Navy have already checked with officials of New Jersey’s Artificial Reef Program on the possibility of sinking the ship, once a source of national pride.

“Another option would be scrapping Olympia,” said James McLane, interim president of the museum, which owns the ship and is adjacent to it at Penn’s Landing. “But the Navy has told us that ‘reefing’ is better because it would allow divers to go down on it and would preserve Olympia.”

The museum can no longer afford the ship’s upkeep, McLane said. At least $20 million is needed to tow, restore, interpret, and endow the deteriorating vessel.

Mike Fitzpatrick Pawn’d Pat Murphy at Townhall Meeting

“This is not a TownHall Meeting” – Obama Dem Patrick Murphy (PA-8)

Patrick Murphy, an incumbent Obama-Dem holding a town hall meeting finds most gathered are not supportive of his blind obedience to his party over the will of his constituents. All of a sudden, it is no longer a town hall meeting and all who have questions or concerns are asked to meet with him privately.

Best part of this Murphy debacle –  the appearance of his Republican competitor at this meeting.  Mike Fitzpatrick, Republican candidate for PA-8,  asked the crowed gathered what they would prefer – a town hall meeting or private meeting. The results are political comedy gold:

Pennsylvania Primary Update

Very briefly:

Toomey is in. Specter is out. Tomorrow is a good day to hit the ground running campaigning for Pat Toomey as his democrat challenger, Joe Sestak, will not go down with out a dust up.

Dee Adcock won his primary challenge in CD-13 – that translates into victory for Allyson Schwartz come November.

Tim Burns failed in his bid to defeat Murtha’s replacement, Mark Critz, in the PA-12 special election.

Tom Corbett is the Republican candidate for Governor.

Last but not least, I won a committee seat in the 57th Ward, 10th Division of CD-13.

Message sent by electorate in Pennsylvania: Dear GOP – don’t count your eggs till they’ve hatched in November.

Pennsylvania Primary Predictions (?)

Pennsylvania’s primary election is fast approaching, with one of the nation’s hottest special election occurring, the spotlight is on Pennsylvania on Tuesday. As a lifelong resident of Philadelphia, let me share some insights on some of the races occurring in Pennsylvania.

Pat Toomey vs Peg Lusik: In a nutshell, this is Toomey’s race and I predict he will carry this primary election easily.

Sestak vs Specter: Rasmussen has Sestak moving slightly ahead of Specter in polling last week. Not surprising as Specter has the same dismal appeal to Democrats in PA as McCain had to Republicans in 2008. As Democrat voters take a closer look at Specter, the more favorable the polling numbers look for Sestak. Personally, I would like to see Specter carry this primary election. As the Democrat candidate, Specter will energize the Republican vote in the general election and carry Toomey to a clear victory. Incidentally, Rasmussen shows dead even polling with a Sestak/Toomey matchup in November.

National news and bloggers have the Toomey/Specter/Sestack vote-a-trois covered. Robert Stacey McCain is hyperventilating over the CD-12 race, but there are a few key CD races that bear a closer look in Pennsylvania:

CD-12 John Murtha’s district. Houston, we’ve got a problem. Tim Burns is PA GOP Chairman Rob Gleason’s golden boy. Rob Gleason an integral part of the GOP party machine who was a close friend and business partner with John Murtha. Despite rallying calls of Burns being the next Scott Brown, the race is polling dead even. The district is gerrymandered in favor of the Democrats with a 2:1 Dem voter registration lead. If Burns wins, don’t cry to me when he turn RINO. RS McCain, love you but we will have to agree to disagree on Tim Burns

CD-13 3 candidates vying for retiring Allyson Schwartz. Haughton vs Adcock vs Quinter. This is my congressional district, which has suffered under the fiscal mismanagement of the current Democrat Congresswoman, Allyson Schwartz. If the endorsed Republican candidate, Dee Adcock, wins the primary election, he will lose badly in a general election against Allyson Schwartz. All is not lost in my home district, constituents have a chance to unseat this entrenched party incumbent by electing Josh Quinter on Tuesday. Oh, there is one other race that has captured my attention – my own race for a GOP committee seat in the 13th district. I predict a stunning win for the blogger turned committee woman.

CD-6 – Jim Gerlach is the endorsed Republican running and will win the primary. However, I am paying close attention to who will win the Dem primary: Doug Pike, a former staffer with the Philadelphia Inquirer, who is more popular with young women in southeast asia than among the constituents in CD6 or Manan Trivedi, an staunch anti war candidate. Will the wave of anti-incumbent sentiment hurt Jim Gerlach in the general election? We will have to wait and see.

CD-7 – Republican Pat Meehan will collect his reward for being a faithful party insider by winning the primary vote. The general election will not be as easy for him against Brian Lentz.

CD-8 – Former Republican Congressman, Mike Fitzpatrick, will clinch the primary vote and oust the moveon.org sponsored Patrick Murphy (D) in the general election come November.
