Hydroponics in the City

My Aerogarden Pro 200 arrived today!

Hydroponic gardening has been around since the days of the hanging gardens of Babylon. Today, techniques for growing in a soil-less environment allows anyone to create an indoor garden with relative ease. The Aerogarden is specifically designed indoor ‘smart garden’. A microprocessor automatically adjusts nutrient delivery, light cycles, and water flow for fast growing, nutrient packed edible gardens.

Set up took only a few minutes and I was ready to add the included Gourmet Herb seed packs:

Mint, Italian Basil, Dill, Thyme, Parsley, Purple Basil, and Chives.

With the seed packs installed and two nutrient tabs added to the tap water in the basin, I plugged in the power cord and started growing some gourmet herbs. Below is an informative video on the ease and benefits of hydroponic gardening:

You can find more information about hydroponic gardening and the Aerogarden on their website HERE. Rainy Day Magazine blog has an excellent post on the Aerogarden, where the set up and progress of plant growth is recorded. Click here for more Aerogarden goodness

State of Our Union

Our President, George Bush will give his State of The Union address in, oh, seven minutes by my time clock. I am looking forward to live-ish blogging this Address. I’ll post the entire Address when it becomes available.

The secret of our strength, the miracle of America, is that our greatness lies not in our Government, but in the spirit and determination of our people. When the Federal Convention met in Philadelphia in 1787, our Nation was bound by the Articles of Confederation, which began with the words, “We the undersigned delegates.” When Gouverneur Morris was asked to draft the preamble to our new Constitution, he offered an important revision and opened with words that changed the course of our Nation and the history of the world: “We the people.”

Saddam/Liberals Lied ~ People Died

Found this gem over at Flopping Aces:

Details from the interview:

“He told me he initially miscalculated… President Bush’s intentions. He thought the United States would retaliate with the same type of attack as we did in 1998…a four-day aerial attack,” says Piro. “He survived that one and he was willing to accept that type of attack.” “He didn’t believe the U.S. would invade?” asks Pelley, “No, not initially,” answers Piro.

He also intended and had the wherewithal to restart the weapons program. “Saddam] still had the engineers. The folks that he needed to reconstitute his program are still there,” says Piro. “He wanted to pursue all of WMD…to reconstitute his entire WMD program.” This included chemical, biological and nuclear weapons, Piro says.

Conventional Wisdom of WMD – By S.Hussein

Saddam’s nuclear documents compel any reasonable person to the conclusion that, more probably than not, there were in fact nuclear WMD sites, components, and programs hidden inside Iraq at the time the Coalition forces invaded.

Atlas Speaks Back to The Anti-Israeli Rally

On another front in this battle to save the US from radical islam appeasers, Pamela of Atlas Shugs, faced down a vicious group of anti semetic and anti American moonbats. Can someone tell my why all the women moonbats running peace protests resemble Lynne Stewart? They are not just running down America in West Chester, they are attacking NYC….again.

Pam has a great video of the day: See Pamela school the anti Israeli C.A.V.E. people.

This Ain’t Hell blogger captured the action going on in DC:

West Chester Rally 01/26/2008

The always bold and beautiful members of the Chester County Victory Movement! Three cheers for the Sheepdogs! Our good compatriot NeoCon has delivered yet again an astounding collection of photos – be shocked and awed – HERE

Another sweet day at the steps of the West Chester Courthouse, where patriots faced off against an aging lot of peace protesters. The rally included highlights of a winter soldier obfuscating and Grant denying all. The rally ended at the Iron Hill Brewery, where I was able to connect Grant with an Iraq Liberation veteran who was interested in setting a story straight.
