Bloggers visit the White House
Congressional Leaders and bloggers present as our President, George W. Bush signs into law the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act.
This bill will allow citizens to log onto a website that will list the federal government’s grants and contracts. This bill will be a useful tool for citizens tracking where their tax dollars are being allocated by the government.
This is the first time that I’ve heard of bloggers being invited to a bill signing at the White House. No word if Arianna or Kos were present at this event. One wonders if they would have accepted a White House invitation?

Wallace Interviews Clinton – Let The Fireworks Begin!
WALLACE: Do you think you did enough, sir?
CLINTON: No, because I didn’t get him.
WALLACE: Right.
CLINTON: But at least I tried. That’s the difference in me and some, including all the right-wingers who are attacking me now. They ridiculed me for trying. They had eight months to try. They did not try. I tried. So I tried and failed. When I failed, I left a comprehensive anti-terror strategy and the best guy in the country, Dick Clarke, who got demoted.
CLINTON: And you’ve got that little smirk on your face and you think you’re so clever. But I had responsibility for trying to protect this country. I tried and I failed to get bin Laden. I regret it. But I did try. And I did everything I thought I responsibly could.
Wow! A lot of blame being spread around, and large dose of finger waggling happening in this interview. I believe the only people Clinton didn’t blame were Mother Teresa and Hilary – probably didn’t have enough time during the interview to blame them. The most honest line spoken in this interview ocurred when Clinton acknowledged his failure in capturing OBL. Another disturbing point: Does our intelligence services have to be in complete concurance in order for a democratic president to act? What type of message is this sending – that a democratic president won’t act on the behalf of US security issues without such concurrance?
What are your thoughts on this interview? Don’t be shy, speak to me.

Change is Good!
Autumn, the season of renewal and change, has officially arrived in the northern hemisphere. Speaking of change, I am happy to announce the debut of my newly designed blogMidnightBlue. This unveiling comes at a time in my life when not only is my blog changing, but so is my career.
As some of you may be aware, this is not my first foray into the blogosphere. Over the course of several years, I’ve worked to find my own voice and not fall prey to simply echoing the latest catch phrases. Along the way I have cultivated many blogging mentors who have challenged me to improve upon my presentation/debate skills and political knowledge base. This blog is a reflection of that growth; additionally, I plan to use this blog to discuss my interests in travel photography, along with the cultural and political aspects of living in Philadelphia.
FYI – Not related to Philadelphia in the slightest, yet intrinsically linked to this blog will be the occasional posting discussing BSG and Lee Adama’s biceps.Over the course of several months, I have worked closely with a tremendously talented and PATIENT blog designer, Ginger fromBabyJaneBlogs
I hope my good readers will find something on this blog to your liking or not — and look forward to reading your thoughts and opinions regarding my postings.
