Remembering Tony Snow

Tony Snow 1955-2008

He will be missed by many in his professional and personal pursuits.

With the exception of Helen (burka’s best friend) Thomas:

A friend of mine, NeoCon, remembers Tony Snow:

I met him in May of ’07 at a Jewish Republican event in Washington. He was still Press Secretary. He spoke to our group and fielded many hostile questions concerning the immigration reform bill. He gave as good as he took. He will be missed for his no nonsense approach to reporting the news, as well as his even handed responses to the Washington press corps.

Farewell, Tim Russert

WASHINGTON (AP) – Tim Russert, host of NBC’s “Meet the Press” and its Washington bureau chief collapsed and died at work Friday after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was 58. Russert, of Buffalo, N.Y., took the helm of the Sunday news show in December 1991 and turned it into the most widely watched program of its type in the nation. His signature trait there was an unrelenting style of questioning, sparing none of the politicians, business giants and even sports figures who appeared on his show.

H/T: Flopping Aces

A real go getter reporter, he will be missed.

Salute to Melanie Morgan

An inspiration to all the warrior women in the conservative movement:

In honor of her 14 years as one of the stars of Hot Talk 560 – KSFO, and a national pro-troop leader, supporters of Melanie Morgan will be conducting a “Salute to Melanie Morgan” event that will take place on Saturday, May 10th at the historic Fior d’Italia restaurant in San Francisco. The Fior d’Italia is America’s oldest Italian restaurant and they serve up delicious offerings that will bring joy to the palette.
All proceeds from this event will go to Move America Forward – to fund our summer pro-troop push as we fight off the criticism, ridicule and attacks against the missions of our military men and women.
We ask all MAF supporters to make a donation to this fundraising drive even if you cannot attend the fundraiser – click here to donate

Bloggers at the Constitution Center

All photos in this series were graciously shared with me by NeoCon – aka – Richard. It was a great pleasure to have the opportunity to meet Richard at this event. He is an affable individual with a great sense of humor.
While Hugh was stuck at the airport, the bloggers took to the stage. Monica, Skye and Troll posing for photos while entertaining the crowd. Looking out over the assembled crowd, I wondered if there were any liberal leaning reporters trying to get a scoop while ‘stumping in enemy territory‘. I would have relished the opportunity to meet him or her at this event.

Hello there! Someone has given Troll the microphone – as if he needs one! With his wife looking on,Troll impresses the audience and Hugh Hewitt with his commentary. As for myself, I’m simply sitting back and enjoying the show – very quietly.

Monica: Grizzly Mama

It was a great pleasure to meet other Philly bloggers at this event – I hope this is the beginning of a Philadelphia area conservative blogger network. We need to organize as there is much to be fixed in the City of Brotherly Love.

What is the difference in this picture??

Hmmm, I’ve got my intense stare going on – we must have been discussing Battlestar Galactica.

Monica and Patrick (Troll) pose in front of the WNTP banner advertising their radio personality lineup. If only we had more of these on-air conservative talk shows in Philly, perhaps the citizenry would stop booing Santa, evicting the Boy Scouts and contenting for the title of
‘Murder Captial USA’.

Hugh, Dennis and Me

This past Tuesday, I had the opportunity to attend a WNTP/TownHall.com Meeting featuring Senator Rick Santorum, Dennis Prager, and Hugh Hewitt. During the three hour meeting, the panelists solicited questions from the audience and graciously posed for photos.
